DESCRIPTION
I.PHASE I (M1-M3): preparation and launching:
In this phase, local partners will create two communities for e-library and research portals in Palestine. This will help in implementing and evaluating the project outcomes. And towards identifying the local needs, the first step for the communities is to participate in the questionnaires that asses and analyse the current status of e-library and research services in PS.
II.PHASE II (M4-M6): forming new local policies for e-libraries and scientific research copy rights:
In this phase, Evaluation for the current policies, rules, regulations, and articles will be implemented at different institutional levels. The EU partners will help creating a questionnaire that may put on the surface what are the missing policies.
III.PHASE III (M7-M12): teams training and capacity building:
Training programs will be provided in subjects that are related to forming e-libraries and scientific research database to put the staff on the envisaged objectives that serve the purposes of the project. The goal of training in Europe (TE) is to acquire the knowledge and the skills and make them transferable (Transferred training (TT)) to other local library staff and university staff.
IV.PHASE IV (M8-M19): building the e-library portal:
This phase identifies the e-library development cycles by following the development phases:
- Analyse the e-library requirements.
- Design process of all e-library components.
- Implement the portal.
- Test and fixing process.
Before the end of this phase, the portal will be enriched with e-library items.
V.PHASE V (M20-M31): building the scientific research portal for Palestine:
this phase identifies the research database development cycles by following the development phases:
- Analyse the scientific research portal requirements.
- Design process of all scientific research services components.
- Implement the portal.
- Test and fixing process.
Before the end of this phase, the portal will be enriched with research outcomes as a first step. Besides, statistics for using e-library services by local students will be analysed to monitor the awareness propagation of the portal impact.
VI.PHASE VI (M29-M35): expansion of the developed portals:
This phase is an important phase towards expanding the developed portals in terms of size and recognizing them as an official PS portal for e-library and researcher database.
VII.PHASE VII (M31-M36): technical report writing and final diffusion:
During running the project activities, different reports and disseminations will be delivered by the partners joint efforts. This joint effort will continue to produce summary documents, and to issue the final project report.
