On 27 July 2020, within the activities of Erasmus+ funded project “Palestinian Research and Library Platform PALIB”, a local visit to Al-Quds Open University (QOU) has been implemented within the work package 1.2: Creating two local communities for digital library and research portals. The visit sought to spread the awareness of the project and to enhance their active participation in the national consortium of Digital Libraries and Scientific research. It also provided basic concepts and information on the processes and resources of WP 1.3: Questionnaire to evaluate the current status of digital libraries and research centers.

PALIB representative from University College of Applied Sciences (UCAS), Islamic University of Gaza (IUG), emphasized on the importance of engaging the local higher education institutions in Palestine within the project activities to widen the mutual benefit from PALIB outcomes.

It’s worth to mention that further local visits to the local Higher Education institution in Gaza Strip and West Bank will be conducted for the same purpose
